Peugeot BSI Repair

In this topic, we will take a comprehensive look at repairing the BSI of Peugeot and Citroen cars. We will divide the topic into several parts so that we can better understand this unit and how to repair it.

introduction

BSI in the multiplex structure has the role of establishing communication between all the electronic control units in the network

The module is controlled by a processor and a fuse. In addition, BSI has the task of supporting its sub-components

has that these duties include:

Main network power supply and communication between diagnostic devices and electronic control units of VAN network.

Electrical control and management of electronic control units of VAN network.

Communication between the electronic control units in the VAN and CAN network.

parts of BSI

The BSI  has the following two sections, which include the following:

Section A (electronic circuits of microprocessors and electronic controller in the form of low current).

Section B high current electrical circuits, power relays and protective fuses.

In this section, the ICs are marked with a number, which the user can refer to the table related to the defects caused by.

The ICs have been notified and the user can fix the mentioned defects.

Note: To get information about numbered parts, you should refer to the table on the next page

IC number

                                         Defective parts

IC N 1

If the oil level does not show, this IC must be replaced

IC N 2

Guide ICs rarely fail or burn out

The guide IC has a software lock, which is due to short circuit and the use of non-standard lamps

Standard, the IC is locked

IC N 3

If the crystal is damaged, the following errors occur:

1- The back of the amp is lit and the hand of the amps does not work

2- The headlights turn on

3- The wiper motor, heater and rear window heater do not work

4- The car does not start

IC N 4

If the small lights do not turn on, this IC must be replaced

IC N 5

If the IC is damaged, the following errors occur:

1- The check light does not turn on

2- The car does not start

IC N 6

If the IC is damaged, the following errors occur:

1- The connection of CAN-2 network behind the amp is turned on and the hand of the amps does not work

2- The headlights turn on

3- The wiper motor, heater and rear window heater do not work

4- The car does not start

5- The horn does not work

IC N 7

If the IC is damaged, the following errors occur:

1- disconnection with the screen and ISU

2- disconnection with the back of the amp

3- Disconnecting from COM 2000-4 node, turning on the light of the heater panel

4- The car does not start

IC N 8

If the compressor does not work, first do the following steps:

1 - First, connect the BSI to diagnostic device and inter to function test and then press the function test button to operate the compressor . If the  compressor did not work. Configure the BSI.

2 - If the compressor configuration does not work, disassembled the BSI and troubleshoot the device to test it.

3 - If BSI is disassembled , and the compressor does not work, the IC must be replaced.

4 - If the air compressor IC does not work after replacing, one of the following items should probably be checked

·         compressor magnet does not work

·         The air conditioner gas cartridge is defective

·         The air conditioner or AC panel is defective

IC N 9

If the IC is damaged, the following errors occur:

·         The front and back lights of the amp stay on

·         The car does not start

·         The window lifter and wiper motor do not work

·         The diagnostic device does not enter the BSI node

IC N 10

If the IC is damaged and the connection with the capacitor is disconnected, the following errors will occur:

·         BSI node CAN network disconnection.

·         Display panel disconnection

·         The back of the amp is turned on and the amp hand does not work

·         The car does not start

IC N 11

If the roof light does not turn on, this IC must be replaced

IC N 12

If the IC is damaged, the following errors occur:

·         Central locking and wiper motor do not work

·         The diagnostic device does not enter the BSI node

IC N 13

Connect the capacitor to pin 39 of the IC

If the IC is damaged, the following errors occur:

·         The glass lifters and the rear window heater do not work
